Going green is more than just a trend it is a global effort to create a healthy and stable environment. Green practices are being adopted everywhere by people and businesses in just about every industry. In the cleaning industry specifically new technologies and products are changing the way we clean.  Before green products were affordable and efficient the cleaning industry used chemicals that were not biodegradable or made from all natural ingredients. Now new cleaning products that are environmentally friendly are being adopted by more and more cleaning professionals. While industrial cleaners are still made from chemicals they are biodegradable and will be safely degraded overtime by factors of the environment. On the other hand the cleaning industry is beginning to use products made from all natural ingredients. These products unfortunately have been scrutinized for being inefficient and costly, but as the products improve more cleaning companies will use them.

Advancements in technology have also contributed to green cleaning. For example, the microfiber cloth has become a versatile and highly efficient cleaning tool and unlike paper towels that contribute to paper waste, the microfiber cloth is reusable. Vacuums have also become more environmentally friendly as new HEPA filters trap everything from dust to chemical particles and prevent them from being released into the air. Overall the trend we are seeing is that as products are becoming more environmentally friendly and efficient as technology improves.

Green cleaning however goes beyond the cleaning industry and is being practiced by millions of Americans every day.  For example, simply recycling a plastic bottle is a green way of disposing your trash and reducing plastic waste. Green cleaning products are also being sold at your local grocery store and items like reusable microfiber cloths and all natural cleaners are easily available. Overall, green cleaning is just one way people are taking part in the green movement to not only create a healthier living environment, but improve the global environment as well.
