If you clean them from the bottom up dirty water will drip down onto the areas you just cleaned. Dirty liquid will also leave streaks on clean areas when it dries.

Wash Your Screens: Screens act as filter trapping dirt and debris. When it rains the dirt gets transferred to your windows making them dirty. To wash your screens remove them and wipe them with a cleaning solution and a sponge. Let them dry while you are cleaning your windows.

Wash on a Cloudy Day: If you are inexperienced at cleaning windows or do not have effective tools you should clean your windows on a cloudy day. When the sun is out the water on your windows will dry quicker leaving you with streaks.

Protect the Fixtures: When you are washing your windows you should place a towel on your window fixtures to collect dripping window cleaning fluid so that is doesn’t damage your windows. If cleaning fluid gets on your window fixtures and is not cleaned up it can cause the paint to discolor and fade.

Gutter Cleaning: Spring is also a common time for people to have their gutters cleaned. Cleaning your gutters is an important not only to prevent water damage, but to keep your house and windows clean. When gutters get clogged the dirty water drips down the side of your home which will make your windows dirty.
